- 1 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. molasses
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. warm water
- 3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Cream sugar and shortening.

2Add beaten eggs and molasses. Sift dry ingredients.

3Add alternately with warm water.

4Bake at 325° for 30 minutes in slightly greased jelly roll pan.

5Frost with powdered sugar frosting.

6Cut while warm.

7For thicker bars, use 13 x 9-inch pan.
