  • 14 cup butter or 14 cup margarine, softened
  • 14 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 12 cup molasses
  • 14 cup hot water
  • 1 34 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 12 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 12 teaspoon ginger
  • 14 teaspoon clove
  • 14 cup hot water

Directions

    Combine butter, sugar, egg, molasses and first amount of hot water in mixing bowl.

    Beat together well.

    Measure next 6 ingredients into same bowl.

    Stir.

    Gradually stir second amount of hot water into batter.

    Fill greased muffin cups 3/4 full.

    Bake in 400 degree oven for 20-25 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

    Cool in pan 5 minutes, then remove.
