Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. cloves
  • 8 oz. plain yogurt or sour cream
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 3 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 c. pears, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/3 c. chopped walnuts

    Preheat oven to 400°.

    Sift together flour, soda and spices. In mixing bowl, beat together brown sugar, yogurt, oil, egg and molasses.

    Combine dry ingredients with creamed mixture.

    Fold in pears, raisins and walnuts if desired.

    Pour into buttered muffin tins and bake for 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Makes 12 to 14.
