  • One 2-inch piece of ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar

Directions

    In a saucepan, combine the ginger, water and sugar and bring to a boil.

    Remove the pan from the heat, stir to dissolve the sugar, then set aside to cool.
