- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. each: cinnamon and ginger
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. light molasses
- 1/2 c. honey
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
Directions

1Melt the butter in a heavy pan and let cool.

2Add the sugar and egg and beat well.

3Sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and salt.

4Combine the molasses, honey, hot water and grated orange rind.

5Add the sifted and liquid ingredients alternately to the butter mixture until blended.

6Bake in a greased pan about 1 hour.
