- 1 c. dark (green label) Brer Rabbit molasses
- 1/2 c. butter
- 3 c. flour
- 1 c. sour milk
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. ginger (optional)
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/4 c. boiling water
Directions

1Mix as for cake.

2Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

3Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.

4Floured raisins may be added, if desired.

5Omit ginger for molasses cake.

6Serve with hot lemon sauce.
