- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp. ginger
- 1 Tbsp. lemon flavoring
- 3/4 c. evaporated milk
- 5 c. unbleached flour
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. molasses
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Cream butter and sugar.

3Add spices, lemon flavoring and milk, blending well.

4Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add to sugar mixture alternately with molasses to make a smooth dough.

5Chill in refrigerator for 2 hours.

6Roll out dough 1/4-inch thick, cut with a cookie cutter and bake on greased and lightly floured cookie sheet about 8 minutes or until done.
