- 1 c. dark molasses
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. canola oil
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 2 1/2 c. unsifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. boiling water
Directions

1Blend molasses, brown sugar, canola oil, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger.

2Stir in boiling water.

3Mix in unsifted flour. Dissolve baking soda in 2 teaspoons hot water; add to batter. Pour into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch cake pan.

4Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
