Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. lard
  • 1 c. syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • flour
  • 1 level tsp. black pepper and ginger (or you can leave the pepper out and use 2 tsp. ginger)
  • 1 level Tbsp. soda

Directions

    Mix all ingredients together working dough well.

    Add enough flour to make the consistency of biscuit dough.

    Roll out and cut putting on a hot pan.

    Bake until lightly brown in a 350° oven.
