- 1 c. C & H brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 c. Crisco
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. Grandma's molasses
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. each cloves and cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- C & H sugar
Directions

1Cream together sugar and shortening until fluffy.

2Add egg and molasses; beat well.

3Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture.

4Mix well, then chill dough.

5Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.

6Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.

7Bake in 350° oven 12 to 15 minutes.

8Makes 4 dozen snappy cookies.
