- 3/4 c. shortening (margarine)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 4 Tbsp. (1/4 c.) molasses
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Blend sugar, shortening, egg and molasses.

2Mix dry ingredients together separately.

3Add all together.

4Cool dough in refrigerator 2 to 3 hours or overnight.

5Roll in small balls; dip top in sugar and bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350° for 10 to 15 minutes.
