Glorified Bread Pudding

  • 10 slices day old bread (raisin and cinnamon)
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Butter bread and arrange slices in buttered baking dish about 7 x 11-inches.

    Beat eggs and sugar together.

    Add milk and vanilla.

    Pour half of the mixture over bread.

    Let stand until bread is soaked.

    Cut through bread until it is in 1-inch pieces. Add remainder of egg mixture.

    Bake about an hour at 325° or until custard is set.

    Makes 6 to 7 servings.
