Ingredients

  • 1 gal. pickles or small cucumbers
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 3 c. apple vinegar (dark)
  • 4 Tbsp. pickling salt

Directions

    Slice pickles or cucumbers, peppers and onions.

    Mix in gallon or large container. In pan, mix sugar, vinegar and pickling salt.

    Heat until hot, about 5 minutes.

    Pour mix over pickles; mix well. Let set for 10 minutes.

    Put in containers. Cover and refrigerate.

    Will keep in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 months.

    Very crisp.
