  • 3 cups (700 ml) gooseberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup (225 ml) sugar
  • 5 saltine crackers, crushed
  • 5 tbsp (70 ml) margarine, melted
  • 1/8 tsp (1 ml) salt
  • 1 unbaked 9 inch pie crust
  • crust for lattice top
  • sugar

Directions

    Combine gooseberries, egg, sugar, crackers, margarine and salt.

    Spoon into prepared pie crust.

    Top with lattice top and sprinkle with sugar.

    Bake at 400 degrees (200 C.) for 45 minutes.
