  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Solid Shortening, Chilled
  • 1/8 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 Tablespoons Gorgonzola Cheese Crumbles
  • 2 Tablespoons Bacon Crumbles
  • 1/2 cups Butter, Melted

    ["In an electric mixer, combine flour, baking powder (1 Tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons of it), salt and shortening and mix until it reaches the consistency of coarse meal. Combine baking soda and 1/3 cup buttermilk in a separate bowl and beat with a spoon until foamy. Add remaining buttermilk, blend, then add this mixture to the flour mixture. At the same time add the cheese, and bacon and beat everything until well blended but do not over beat.
