- 1 1/2 cups rice
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup celery
- 1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 teaspoon marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon sage
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
Directions

1Brown rice in 1 tablespoon of butter& 2 tablespoons of oil till toasted (light brown).

2Bring water to a boil, add salt& toasted rice.

3Cover and cook for 20 minutes.

4While rice is cooking chop onion& celery.

5Saute onion, celery& mushrooms in remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and add seasonings.

6Add cooked rice and toss to blend.
