- about 1 peck slicing pickles
- 2 or 3 large onions
- 1/2 c. kosher salt
- 4 c. sugar
- 4 c. vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
- 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
Directions

1Wash and slice pickles and onions.

2Soak in salt water about 4 hours.

3While pickles are soaking, bring vinegar, sugar and spices to a boil, then set aside to cool.

4Drain pickles well (squeeze juice out).

5Place pickles in jars.

6Pour brine over pickles.

7Put caps on, but do not worry about sealing.

8Place in refrigerator. Let stand a couple of weeks before using.
