  • 6 egg yolks (saving whites)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pt. milk
  • 12 graham crackers
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • whipped cream

Directions

    Beat egg yolks and add the cup of sugar, flour, salt, vanilla and milk.

    Cook to thick custard. Roll graham crackers to crush them.

    Melt butter and brown sugar, then add to cracker crumbs. Spread 1/2 cup of crumbs in baking dish. Add custard. Beat egg whites, 1 teaspoon sugar and baking powder; spread over custard. Add rest of crumbs.

    Bake until egg whites are brown.

    Serve with whipped cream.
