- 4 1/4 to 4 3/4 c. flour
- 1 c. brown sugar, tightly packed
- 1 lb. butter
Directions

1Cream butter; add sugar and beat well.

2Add about 4 1/4 cups of flour slowly and mix until dough cracks (use hands if necessary).

3Roll out 1/2 to 3/4-inch thickness.

4Cut and place on ungreased baking sheets.

5Decorate with cut up cherries.

6Bake in slow oven, 275° to 300°, until medium brown, 20 to 35 minutes. Cool on rack.

7Store tightly covered.

8May freeze.
