- 2 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. Crisco oil or 1 stick margarine, softened
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 to 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Grease and flour a 15 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Mix dry ingredients together.

3Mix molasses, oil, water, milk, eggs, vanilla and sugar together.

4Add raisins, if desired. Gradually add dry ingredients.

5Pour into prepared pan.

6Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes.
