  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 stick margarine (room temperature)
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 6 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla, mixed with milk
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Sift together the flour and salt.

    Mix sugar, margarine and Crisco until creamy.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each; alternately add dry ingredients and milk and vanilla, beating after each.

    Pour in a greased and floured tube pan and bake at 375° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until it tests done with toothpick.
