- 6 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup toasted wheat germ
- 12 cup sunflower seeds
- 14 cup sesame seeds
- 14 cup finely chopped nuts
- 12 cup melted butter or 12 cup vegetable oil
- 12 cup honey
- 14 cup water
- 34 teaspoon salt (changed from 1 1/2 tsp in original recipe)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup raisins
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350F.

2Combine oats, coconut, wheat germ, seeds, and nuts in a large bowl.

3In a medium sauce pan, mix together butter or oil, honey, water, salt and vanilla.

4Heat on low until honey is completely dissolved into mixture.

5Pour over grains stirring thoroughly.

6Spread mixture thinly between 2 cookie sheets.

7Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, stirring frequently.

8(Note: I usually stir about every 7-8 minutes and watch closely at around 18 minutes so it does not over brown).

9Oats should be crisp and brown, but coconut not burned.

10Allow to cool thoroughly, then add optional raisins and place in an airtight container for storage.

11Serve with milk for breakfast or snacks.
