  • 2 eggs (beaten with a fork)
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk, heated
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 c. Grape-Nuts cereal
  • nutmeg (if desired)

Directions

    Combine eggs, sugar and salt.

    Add hot milk, vanilla and cereal.

    Pour into buttered casserole.

    Place in a pan of hot water that comes up about halfway on the casserole.

    Bake at 325° for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a knife inserted into custard comes out clean.

    Sprinkle with nutmeg.
