Great Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 3 sticks butter
- 1 pkg. cream cheese
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 c. sifted cake flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3 eggs, unseparated
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring (lemon?, etc.)
Directions

1In large bowl, put softened butter and cream cheese; blend together until creamy.

2Add eggs, one at a time; add sugar to this.

3Sift together flour, salt and baking powder; slowly add these dry ingredients to the bowl.

4Mix together well.

5Add flavoring last.

6Pour batter (very stiff) into 1 greased and floured tube pan or two loaf pans.

7With knife, cut through cake batter in a circle.

8Do not touch bottom of pan.

9Place in center of rack and bake 1/2 hour at 350°.

10Turn oven down to 325° and bake 1/2 hour more.

11Cool and remove from pan.

12Serve plain or add your favoring topping (optional).
