Grits Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. grits (uncooked)
  • 6 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 lb. Velveeta cheese
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Tabasco sauce
  • 3 eggs, well beaten

Directions

    Cook grits, water and salt 5 minutes or until thick and bubbling.

    While hot, add Velveeta, margarine, seasoned salt and Tabasco sauce.

    When cool, add the well beaten eggs.

    Pour into two 8 x 8-inch or one 9 x 15-inch greased casserole.

    Bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes.

    May want to let it sit 5 to 10 minutes after baking.

    Will firm up as it cools.

    Good with pork or ham.
