  • 1/2 c. hominy grits
  • 1 garlic clove, lightly crushed (or minced garlic)
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. chicken broth (I use 14 1/2 oz. can)
  • 2 sliced green onions
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine

Directions

    Stir grits, garlic and pepper into boiling chicken broth. Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat until thick, 3 to 4 minutes.

    Discard garlic clove (if used).

    Stir in green onions and butter.

    Cover and let stand 5 minutes.
