  • 1 lb. green split peas
  • 1 slice ready to cook ham, cooked and cubed
  • 4 to 5 large button mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 6 to 8 c. water
  • cayenne pepper to taste
  • paprika to taste
  • 1 clove garlic

    In large stockpot, bring water, split peas, carrots, mushrooms, ham, garlic and bouillon cubes to boil. Reduce to simmer for 1 hour or until peas are tender. Add spices to taste.
