Ham Steak on Creamed Spinach

- 1 8- to 10-ounce ham steak (1/2 inch thick)
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 3/4 cup half and half
- 1 10-ounce package frozen chopped spinach, thawed, squeezed dry
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Directions

1Season ham generously with pepper.

2Melt 1 teaspoon butter in heavy medium skillet over medium-high heat.

3Add ham to skillet; saute until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.

4Transfer ham to plate; tent with foil to keep warm.

5Melt 1 teaspoon butter in same skillet over medium heat.

6Add garlic and stir 30 seconds.

7Add half and half and simmer until slightly reduced, scraping up browned bits, about 3 minutes.
