Ham with Pear Glaze

- 14 pounds ham
- 1 x pear puree

1Remove rind from ham.

2Preheat oven to 350F (180C).

3Place ham on rack in large roasting pan.

4Make 1/2 inch deep crisscross cuts in fat atop ham.

5Heat half of pear puree in heavy small saucepan.

6Brush some generously over ham.

7Bake ham until thermometer inserted in thickest past without touching bone registers 140 degrees F, basting occasionally with pear puree, about 2 hours.

8Remove from oven and baste again.

9Let stand 20 minutes.

10Transfer ham to platter.

11Pass remaining pear puree separately.
