- 3 to 4 large ripe tomatoes
- 4 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 Tbsp. freshly ground pepper
- 12 to 14 large basil leaves
- 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
- salt to taste
Directions

1Place slices of tomato alternately with basil leaves on a large platter.

2Whisk together the olive oil and red wine vinegar and pour over the tomatoes.

3Top with freshly ground pepper and salt to taste. Cover lightly with plastic wrap and allow to stand at room temperature about 30 minutes before serving.
