- 3/4 or 1 lb. hamburg
- 1 onion, minced
- 1 can tomatoes
- 3/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- potatoes
- carrots
- small whole onions
- 3 slices bread
- 3/4 c. hot milk
- 1 egg
Directions

1Soften bread in hot milk.

2Break up with fork; add 1 beaten egg and mix into hamburg.

3Form into four cakes.

4Dust with flour and brown on both sides.

5Add tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce.

6Cover and simmer a few minutes.

7Add diced potatoes, carrots and small whole onions.

8Season and simmer for 45 minutes.
