- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. celery, sliced
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/4 c. raw rice
- 1 1/2 qt. water
- 1 c. diced onions
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. cubed potatoes
- 1 c. sliced carrots
- 2 c. cooked tomatoes
- 1 c. shredded cabbage
Directions

1Cook ground beef and onions together, browning the meat a little.

2Add vegetables and water.

3Bring to a boil and sprinkle the rice over and bring to rolling boil; cover and let simmer for 1 hour.

4Should be cooked in a 6-quart kettle.

5Will serve 6 to 8 people.

6Can be served with shredded cheese on top.

7This is a good-for-you, low-fat meal.
