Hanover'S Brisket

Ingredients

  • 4 or 5 lb. brisket
  • 1 can consomme soup
  • 1 small bottle soy sauce
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • garlic to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. liquid smoke
  • 1/2 c. barbecue sauce

Directions

    Combine ingredients, all but barbecue sauce, pour over meat and marinate overnight.

    Bake in liquid for 4 hours for 4 pounds or 5 hours for 5 pounds at 300°.

    Baste occasionally during baking. Cover until last hour and then remove cover and pour cup barbecue sauce over and increase temperature to 350°.
