- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. RapidRise yeast
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast and soda in water.

2Mix sugar with flour.

3Cut shortening into flour and sugar mixture.

4Dump yeast mixture into flour.

5Stir.

6Add buttermilk.

7Cover and refrigerate.

8Divide when ready to make biscuits.

9Pat out and cut with large cutter. Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes or until brown.
