  • 4 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Sift together dry ingredients.

    Cut in shortening.

    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.

    Add buttermilk and yeast together. Put in a lightly covered bowl and place in refrigerator until morning.

    Roll out the amount you need and cut into biscuits. Bake at 425° until done.

    The dough will keep in refrigerator for 1 week.
