  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/3 c. vinegar
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 4 c. cooked, sliced beets or 2 cans sliced beets
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 1/4 tsp. each: salt and pepper

Directions

    Combine sugar, cornstarch, vinegar and water.

    Boil for 5 minutes.

    Add beets and simmer for 30 minutes.

    Remove from heat; add butter, salt and pepper.
