Ingredients

  • 1 (2 lb.) bag frozen hash browns
  • 1 (8 oz.) container sour cream
  • 10 oz. grated medium Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. butter, melted
  • 1/4 c. melted butter (for topping)
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/2 c. bread crumbs (for topping)

Directions

    Mix all ingredients, except potatoes and those listed for topping, with electric mixer until well blended.

    Place hash browns in 4-quart casserole dish; pour cheese mixture over hash browns.

    Cover with bread crumbs.

    Pour melted butter allotted for topping over bread crumbs.

    Bake for 1 hour at 350°.
