Hawaiian Fruit Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch or flour
  • 3 oz. pkg. orange or lemon jello
  • 16 oz. can pie cherries, drained
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 bananas (approximately)
  • Cool Whip
  • 2 deep dish pie shells or 3 regular shells, baked

Directions

    Mix sugar and cornstarch, then add crushed pineapple (juice included).

    Mix thoroughly and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly until thickened.

    Stir in jello, stirring until dissolved; cool.

    Add cherries and nuts.

    Line baked pie shells with sliced bananas, sides and bottom.

    Fill with jello mixture and top with Cool Whip; refrigerate.
