Ingredients
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. fine chopped onion
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/2 c. (12 oz.) tomato paste
- 5 c. tomatoes (2 large cans)
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil, crumbled
- 1/2 tsp. oregano, crumbled
- 8 oz. lasagna
- 1 lb. Ricotta or cottage cheese (I use both)
- 12 oz. Swiss cheese
- 2/3 c. grated Parmesan
- 2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Melt butter or margarine in large skillet or Dutch oven.

2Add onion and garlic and cook gently about 5 minutes.

3Add ground beef.

4Cook slowly, stirring frequently, until all red color disappears from meat.

5Stir in tomato paste, tomatoes, salt, pepper, basil and oregano.

6Simmer, stirring occasionally, 30 to 35 minutes.
