Hazelnut Cake

  • 5 1/4 tablespoons butter softened
  • 5/8 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs separated
  • 11/16 cup hazelnuts finely chopped
  • 1 3/16 cups bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 ounces chocolate
  • 5 milk generous tbsps.
  • 2 3/4 tablespoons hazelnuts finely chopped

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 150 Celsius.

    Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the egg yolks and continue to mix. Stir in the hazelnuts and breadcrumbs and add the milk, little by little.

    Beat the egg whites and fold into the batter.

    Pour the batter into a cake pan and bake for 60 minutes.

    Remove from oven and allow to cool before removing from pan.

    Melt the chocolate with the milk in a double boiler and pour over the cake. Sprinkle with the remaining hazelnuts and serve.
