- 3 c. cake flour or all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. confectioners sugar
- 1/2 c. hazelnuts, toasted and ground
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. unsalted butter, cut in small pieces
- 2 sq. semi-sweet chocolate, melted
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Stir flour, sugar, salt and hazelnuts in medium-size bowl.

3Cut butter into flour mixture with pastry blender.

4Knead until mixture holds together.

5Divide dough in half.
-
6Place each half on an ungreased baking sheet.

7Pat each out into a 9-inch circle; crimp edges.

8Cut each circle into 12 equal wedges.

9Do not separate.
-
10Bake in a preheated oven (325°) for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown.

11Drizzle chocolate, if desired, over hot shortbread.

12Cool 10 minutes.

13Re-cut to separate wedges.
-
14Cool.
-
15Store in airtight container.
