Hazelnut Shortbread Buttons

- 250 g butter
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 1 cup cornflour
- 2 cups flour
- 100 g hazelnuts
Directions

1Toast the hazelnuts in a 180C oven for 5 minutes and rub in a tea towel to remove the skins.

2Then roughly chop the nuts.

3Cream butter and icing sugar until light and fluffy.

4Sift flour and cornflour into butter mixture, add the hazelnuts and mix to combine.

5Knead well on floured surface.

6Take walnut sized pieces and roll into balls.

7Place on a baking tray and flatten a little.

8Bake at 150C for 30 minutes until cooked.

9The shortbreads should remain pale in colour.

12The dough can be rolled out and cut into shapes if preferred.
