  • 2/3 cup warm milk (70&deg to 80&deg)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts, toasted

Directions

    In a bread machine pan, place the first eight ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available.

    Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed). Just before the final kneading (your bread machine may audibly signal this), add hazelnuts.
