Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. wheat germ
- 1/2 c. instant, nonfat dry milk
- 3/4 to 1 c. raisins
- 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 3/4 c. water
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease 2 (1 pound) shortening cans or other 2 1/2-cup cans.

3There are small (2 1/2 cup) loaf pans.

4Mix all ingredients, except 1 tablespoon wheat germ, and the water in a medium size bowl.

5Stir in water until just blended.

6Spoon into cans, smooth top and sprinkle with remaining wheat germ.

7Bake until tops are golden brown and pick inserted in center comes out clean.

8As soon as out of oven, remove from cans and put in zip-lock bags.

9Great with split pea soup.
