Ingredients

  • 4 c. oats (rolled, instant or quick)
  • 1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
  • 1 1/2 c. wheat germ
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. brown sugar or honey
  • 1/2 c. each: walnuts and slivered almonds
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. diced dates

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients well; mix together the water, oil, vanilla (and honey, if used) and add to the dry ingredients.

    Bake in a large 10 x 14-inch loaf cake pan in 275° oven for 1 hour. Stir every 20 minutes.

    Add the raisins and dates last 20 minutes.
