Ingredients

  • Oil (sufficient to cover bottom of skillet)
  • 1 tbsp. dry crushed red pepper
  • 1 tbsp. chili pwdr
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic pwdr
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lg. onion, minced
  • 1 lg. green pepper, diced
  • 1 (40 ounce.) can red kidney beans (liquid removed)
  • 1 (28 ounce.) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (6 ounce.) can tomato paste
  • 1 (4 ounce.) can minced green chilies (liquid removed)
  • 1 pound minced meat
  • 1 pound steak (shoulder cut or possibly round) cut in cubes

Directions

    Brown onions and green pepper in oil in large skillet.

    While the vegetables are cooking, put all the spices and canned ingredients into a large pot and mix well.

    Add in onions and green pepper to pot.

    Brown steak in oil in skillet.

    After it's browned add in to pot.

    Brown chop meat in skillet, drain fat.

    After it's cooked add in to pot.

    Once all the ingredients are in the pot, stir well.

    Cover and simmer on low heat for 1 1/2 hrs, stirring occasionally.
