  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp ground mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 6 tbsp (3/4 stick) cold butter, chopped
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 None egg yolk

    Preheat the oven to 400°F. Grease and line 2 baking pans with parchment paper.

    Sift dry ingredients into a medium bowl. Rub in butter with fingertips. Stir in herbs, cheese and egg yolk; press mixture firmly together with hands. On a lightly floured surface, knead until smooth. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 mins.

    Roll dough between sheets of parchment paper until 1/8 inch thick. Cut into fifty 1 1/2-inch squares, then cut each in half to make triangles. Place triangles about 1/2 inch apart on prepared pans.

    Bake for 10 mins, or until lightly browned. Cool in pans on wire rack.
