- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 tsp. dried fines herbes, crushed
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Combine 1 1/2 cups of the flour, the yeast and fines herbes. Heat together the water, butter or margarine, sugar and salt just until warm (115° to 120°), stirring until butter almost melts. Add to yeast mixture.

2Beat at low speed of electric mixer for 1/2 minute, scraping bowl constantly.

3Beat 3 minutes at high speed. Stir in remaining flour.

4Cover; let rise until double.

5Stir down dough.

6Spread evenly in greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

7Cover; let rise until double.

8Bake in a 375° oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack.

9Makes 1 loaf.
