Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. hot bulk pork sausage
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 2 c. water
- 1 (6 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried whole oregano
- 1/4 tsp. ground thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- salt to taste
- Hot cooked spaghetti
Directions

1Combine ground beef, sausage, onion, and garlic in a Dutch oven; cook until meat is browned, stirring to crumble meat.

2Drain off drippings.

3Add remaining ingredients except spaghetti; bring to a boil.

4Cover, reduce heat and simmer 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

5Uncover and simmer an additional hour, stirring occasionally.

6Remove bay leaf, and spoon over spaghetti.

7Yield: 10 cups.
