Hershey Layer Cake

  • 1 large Hershey bar
  • 2 stick margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped

Directions

    Melt Hershey bar in top of double boiler over hot water.

    Cool. Cream margarine with sugar.

    Beat until smooth.

    Add eggs one at a time beating well after each.

    Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.

    Stir in nuts.

    Bake in 2 greased and floured 9-inch square cake pans in 350° preheated oven for about 35 to 40 minutes.

    Frost cake with your favorite frosting.
